Grooming and Snowmaking:

Early season grooming is conducted with a Yamaha VK Pro snowmobile pulling a variety of grooming tools including a 6' roller or a 6' YTS Ginzu with electric classic track mold. Some of our classic-only trails are groomed all season long by our snowmobile pulling a 4' Ginzu with electric track mold. Once there is satisfactory snow depth we begin grooming with our Pisten Bully Paana. The Paana has a multi-direction blade for moving snow, power tiller for renovating the snow base and double hydraulic classic track molds. Most trails are groomed for both skate and classic.

Grooming is performed when its needed and subject to the current weather and future forecast. Typically, grooming commences during the wee hours of the night around 3AM and is completed by 9AM, which provides enough time for the tracks to set-up by the time skiers arrive.

Early in the season we make snow with our SMI Polecat on our Learn To Ski Area. This area gets alot of traffic and man made snow is just the ticket to provide a durable surface that stands up to the wear and tear of lots of skiers. Our snowmaking equipment includes 1000 feet of portable pipe and a large water pump capable of moving over 100 gallons a minute at 200+ PSI. In the Summer it doubles as our fire protection system and is capable of reaching all our buildings should the need ever arise.
